NEWPORT, RI – Tactical teams were called to Cliff Walk to rescue a man that fell off the edge after his vehicle crashed into a nearby home early Saturday morning.
According to WPRI, a vehicle slammed into a home on Rose Street some time after midnight. The driver sped off before first responders were called to the scene.
Shortly after the first incident happened, firefighters called to rescue a man that had fallen 40 feet at Cliff Walk. The man was rescued by a tactical team and taken to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon further investigation, police determined the man who was rescued at Cliff Walk was the driver of the vehicle involved in the Rose Street crash. Charges are pending at this time.
