PROVIDENCE, RI – According to WJAR, a driver was hurt after they collided with a fire engine on I-95 NB near Thurbers Ave on Sunday.
Emergency crews were responding to a crash and had blocked off a protected work zone with the fire engine. A 64-year-old male driving a Nissan Pathfinder drove through the work zone and slammed into the back corner of the fire engine.
Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities cited the driver with multiple violations.
The crash badly damaged the fire engine, and it was towed from the scene.
