Car-Bicycle Accident Critically Injures 1 in S. Kingston

A car-bicycle collision along Route 1 near Jerry Brown Farm Road in South Kingstown critically injured one individual. Turn to Ten reported the Washington County accident, which occurred last Wednesday, July 27.

According to preliminary investigations, a 22-year-old Massachusetts biker was hit by an 88-year-old driver. The woman driving the car, Claire Archambault of South Kingstown, crashed into the bicyclist from behind.

Police officers said the biker, identified as Cheshire resident Mary WIlk, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She received medical attention for her life-threatening injuries and later died. Officials are conducting further investigation into the matter to determine the factors that contributed to the crash.
