PROVIDENCE, RI – Two people, including a providence police officer, were hospitalized after a collision caused by a drunk driver early Friday.
According to WPRI, the crash happened at bout 1 a.m. when 21-year-old Samiya Baez was heading north on Charles Street and collided with the officer’s vehicle.
Both the unidentified male officer and Baez were transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Baez is currently facing charges of driving under the influence, chemical test refusal, driving to endanger resulting in injury, and no valid license.
