WOONSOCKET, RI – The man who was injured in a hit-and-run crash on the 400 block of Diamond Hill Rd Thursday died the next day, according to WJAR.
Jared Travers, 30, was allegedly driving a white sedan when he hit the victim, a 71-year-old man, as he was crossing the street around 6:15 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the victim to Landmark Medical Center before life-flighting him to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died Friday.
Authorities arrested Travers and charged him with duty to stop in an accident resulting in serious injury and duty to render assistance.
These charges will now be upgraded since the victim died.
Travers was arraigned Friday at the Woonsocket Police Department. His bail was set at $10,000 with surety.
