1 hospitalized following DUI crash on Pond St in South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI – One person was hurt when an alleged drunk driver crashed into a tree on Pond St on Saturday, according to WPRI.

Joseph Lennon-Tierney, 29, was heading north on Pond St when he strayed off the road and collided with a tree around 6:30 p.m.

Rescue crews transported one of the driver’s three passengers to an area hospital.

Lennon-Tierney told officers he had been drinking. Authorities arrested him for suspicion of driving under the influence of liquor and or drugs and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Lennon-Tierney’s court date is on December 7.
