Single-vehicle crash causes power outages in Sandwich

SANDWICH, MA – A black Ford F-350 crashed into a utility pole Friday morning, knocking out power to several households in the Sandwich area, according to CapeCod.com.

Police responded to the intersection of Boardley Road and Harlow Road around 3:30 a.m.

The truck sustained a significant amount of damage to the front left bumper. The light pole was broken in half, blocking both lanes of Boardley Road. A fence of a nearby residence also sustained damages

The driver was identified as a 24-year-old man from Forestdale. It is unclear if he was injured in the crash.

Power outages were reported in the area for several hours while crews worked to replace the pole.

The cause of the accident continues to be investigated.
