Driver crashes into police cruiser on MA 88 in Westport

WESTPORT, MA – According to WPRI, a driver slammed into the back of a police vehicle on MA 88 Sunday.

An 18-year-old man is accused of rear-ending the police cruiser in the breakdown lane of MA 88 around 1:15 a.m.

Rescue crews transported the officer to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 18-year-old refused treatment at the scene of the accident.

Authorities charged the teen with using an electronic device while driving, possession of liquor by a minor, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
