MIDDLETOWN, RI – An 80-year-old man lost his life as a result of a pedestrian-vehicle crash in Middletown on Sunday, WJAR10 reports.
The incident unfolded after 8 p.m. Preliminary details from Middletown police reveal that the 80-year-old man was crossing the intersection of Coddington Highway Underwood Lane when he was struck by a vehicle.
EMS crews rushed the male pedestrian, who was in critical condition, to Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died. He has since been identified as Ronald Moore.
Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and indicated that no criminal charges have been filed against them at this time.
A full investigation is underway.
