JOHNSTON, RI – Five people were injured when a driver collided with a police cruiser on US 6 near Antwood Ave on Sunday, according to WJAR.
The driver hit the police cruiser in the high-speed lane around 9:20 p.m. The impact sent both vehicles into the median.
Rescue crews transported the trooper and four others to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The Rhode Island State Police is investigating the incident.
