2-vehicle crash injures 3, causes SUV to overturn in Johnston

JOHNSTON, RI – Two drivers and one passenger were injured in a two-vehicle crash that caused an SUV to overturn in the Manton neighborhood Sunday.

WJAR News 10 said the events unraveled before 3 p.m. when a 56-year-old man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV on eastbound Greenville Drive crashed into an Audi Q5 going westbound on Greenville. The force of the collision caused the Jeep to overturn and left its driver with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Audi was a 35-year-old woman, and the passenger was a 20-year-old man. Both were left with minor injuries. EMS crews transported all three involved occupants to Rhode Island Hospital for their non-serious injuries.

Johnston police did not specify what caused the Jeep driver to collide with the Audi or say if they cited anyone.
