One killed, one hurt in fiery crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA – A fiery fatality crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater resulted in one death and one person hospitalized on Friday morning, reports ABC 6.

The accident took place on Route 24 north around 3 a.m. when a northbound Ford Explorer that was travelling at a high rate of speed went off the road and crashed into a tree before catching fire.

The 43-year-old man driving the SUV was trapped inside of the vehicle according to responders.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as a 40-year-old Taunton woman, was hospitalized at Good Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is as of yet undetermined.
