FALL RIVER, MA – A man accused of causing a crash that killed three people on the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Dec. 25 pleaded not guilty to his charges, according to WJAR.
Adam Gauthier, 41, was allegedly impaired as he was driving a Land Rover east in the westbound lanes of traffic and collided with an Infiniti SUV occupied by three people around 11:10 p.m.
Floriano Arruda, 73, and his 15-year-old grandson died in the crash. Donna Arruda, 68, died from her injuries on Dec. 29.
Authorities charged Gauthier with three counts of manslaughter while operating under the influence and motor vehicle homicide.
A judge released Gathier on bail. He can no longer drink or drive.
