Man driving with 3 children crashes into car, arrested for DUI

TIVERTON, RI – A man was arrested after a crash injured one person in Tiverton last week.

According to the Fall River Reporter, the man was driving southbound on Stafford Road at Kitchener Street when he crashed into a Toyota sedan.

He had three children occupants ages 16, 15, and 4 in his vehicle at the time of the crash. As he was speaking with officers, they detected alcohol on his breath. The man failed field sobriety tests and took a breathalyzer that revealed a .291 blood-alcohol content, four times above the legal limit.

The driver in the Toyota was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital with injuries.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

The man was arrested and charged with DUI with a child under 13 as a passenger and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
