Driver sentenced for fatal DUI crash on US 6 in Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, MA – According to WJAR, a man was sentenced on Wednesday for a fatal DUI crash on US 6 near China Belle Restaurant on Jan. 29, 2021.

Jason Lindsay, 23, was driving when he picked up a 15-year-old male. The two went to a liquor store where Lindsay met a man who purchased alcohol for him. Lindsay then drank the alcohol before driving.

The group smoked marijuana while driving to Dartmouth.

Lindsay was driving at 99 mph on a 35 mph road when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a utility pole.

Lindsay’s 15-year-old passenger died from a head injury following the crash.

Lindsay suffered minor injuries.

Nobody was wearing a seatbelt.

Police tested Lindsay’s blood alcohol content. It was .19, over twice the legal limit.
