CRANSTON, RI – Two people were injured, one seriously, as a result of a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday evening in Cranston, according to WPRI.
Local police were dispatched to the scene on a stretch of Pontiac Avenue at around 7:30 p.m.
Officials said a woman was behind the wheel of a northbound vehicle that veered past the double yellow lines. Moments later, the car collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
The woman, who was found to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, was unconscious as first responders rushed her to Rhode Island Hospital for head trauma.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, but it was unclear whether he had to be hospitalized.
An investigation remains in progress.
