UPDATE: 2 women hospitalized after crashing into Cranston home

CRANSTON, RI – Two women were taken to Rhode Island Hospital after they crashed their car into a sign and then a home’s gas meter Thursday, Turnto10 said.

To recap, this took place along the Reservoir Avenue and Carlton Street intersection. Authorities initially said the driver crashed into the gas line at the Shell gas station. However, they later confirmed that it was a home.

The gas meter was knocked out, and police were able to shut down the gas line before any harm could surface.

It is unclear what led the driver to ultimately crash into the home. Officials also have not provided an update on the women’s conditions.

More information will be given as it becomes available.
