COVENTRY, RI – A driver of a white pickup truck intended to put their vehicle in park but instead put it in drive and crashed into an outside table and chair outside JW’s Pub Thursday.
Turnto10 said that the table and chair were totaled, but the inside of the bar itself, located at 433 Washington Street, was free from damage. The customers and owner himself, Jason Wu, were also spared from physical harm.
Outside footage indicated that the suspect tried to drive away. Wu said that customers tried to stop the driver (who Wu said was a man) but did not clarify if the man stayed at the scene or actually managed to flee.
Local police have also not provided additional commentary surrounding Thursday’s incident. Updates will be provided as more details surface.
