Scooter rider suffers critical injuries in Bellingham crash

BELLINGHAM, MA – A man in his 60s suffered severe injuries while riding a scooter Sunday in a Bellingham collision, reports The Milford Daily News.

The wreck reportedly happened at around 5:35 p.m. on May 17. Authorities say a car crashed into the scooter along South Main Street, also known as Route 126, near VFW Post 7272.

First responders found the rider unconscious but still able to breathe immediately after impact. A medical helicopter transported the man to a Rhode Island hospital for urgent care. Police later said his condition remained critical.

Officials have not released either person’s name. The car’s driver reportedly stayed on location after the crash. A witness also stayed behind to speak with investigators.

Police blocked part of South Main Street for several hours Sunday while crews examined the area. Officers returned Monday and shut the road again for further review.

Authorities have not announced any charges at this time. Bellingham police continue to examine the crash.
