WOONSOCKET, RI – According to WJAR, a driver accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash on S Main St appeared in court Friday.
Reed Barbour, 22, was allegedly driving a Cadillac the wrong way on S Main St at excessive speeds when they slammed into the driver’s side of a Jeep.
The collision ejected a passenger, Brian Blanchette, from the Jeep. Rescue crews transported Blanchette to an area hospital, where he died from a head injury.
Crews transported the Jeep’s driver, Thomas Seuss, 55, to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the collision, Barbour and his passenger, Jacob Hadley, 26, allegedly fled the area on foot.
Barbour was released on bail and did not enter a plea.
