WARWICK, RI – Hazmat crews responded to the scene of an accident on I-295 in Warwick on Friday afternoon.
According to Rhode Island DoT, the crash took place at about 4:47 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near the exit to RI-2.

Little information is known about the cause of the crash at this time. However, at least one left lane was closed while Hazmat crews worked to clear the scene.
