MANSFIELD, MA – Massachusetts State Police are investigating an accident in Mansfield on Saturday that left a motorcyclist critically injured.
According to a release from the Mansfield Fire Department, the incident happened at about 5:43 p.m. on the ramp from Interstate 495 north to Exit 31 for State Highway 140.
State Police reported that a motorcycle had traveled off the roadway and that the operator was unconscious.
Mansfield Fire Department personnel began providing emergency care to the motorcyclist, who went into cardiac arrest but was resuscitated by firefighters and paramedics.
The rider was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Mansfield Police and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the incident. There were no further details on what led to the crash.
