Injuries reported in hit-and-run at Walnut, Judith in Newton

NEWTON, MA – Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run crash that seriously injured one person Tuesday in southern Middlesex County, reports WCVB 5.

Around 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to an accident at Walnut Street and Judith Road in the city of Newton, which is around 10 miles southwest of Boston.

While details remain limited, police say that a collision caused a black sedan to slam into a tree. Medics transported one person from the sedan to an area hospital with severe injuries.

Authorities are actively looking for another driver, who did not stop to render aid or to speak with police.

The investigation is ongoing.
