CENTRAL FALLS, RI – Police have confirmed a fatality in connection to a crash that happened Wednesday afternoon in east-central Providence County.
According to 10 WJAR, emergency crews responded around 4:45 p.m. to an auto-pedestrian accident on Garfield Street in Central Falls, about 1.5 miles northwest of Pawtucket.
Authorities say that a car fatally struck a 69-year-old Lincoln woman after she fell into the roadway. The victim’s name has not yet been released to the public.
The 21-year-old driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
A full investigation is underway.
