Avon man charged in injury crash on US-44 in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, MA – A 22-year-old Avon man was allegedly intoxicated when he caused a wrong-way collision in Bristol County on Tuesday.

According to 10 WJAR, emergency crews responded around 6 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident along Winthrop Street, or US-44, in Rehoboth, which is around 12 miles northeast of Providence, Rhode Island.

Police say that Jacob Larsen was speeding when his westbound Honda Accord entered the eastbound side of US-44 and crashed head-on into an eastbound Dodge Caravan.

Medics transported both drivers to area hospitals.

Larsen faces multiple charges, including DUI, speeding, and negligence.
