2 hurt, 1 charged in crash at Seekonk elementary school

SEEKONK, MA – Two people sustained injuries Monday afternoon in crash that happened in the parking lot of a Bristol County elementary school, reports 10 WJAR.

The accident occurred just before 3 p.m. at Mildred H. Aitken Elementary School, which is located at 165 Newman Avenue in Seekonk. This is approximately six miles southeast of Providence.

Police say that the elderly driver of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade accidentally reversed into five vehicles parked along the side of the school, four of which contained occupants.

While two people were reportedly hurt, it’s unclear if they required hospitalization. No children sustained injuries in the collision.

Authorities charged the driver of the Cadillac, identified as 73-year-old Rosa Paiva with with operating to endanger.

A full investigation is underway.
