Chain-reaction crash in Bridgewater injures state trooper

BRIDGEWATER, MA – A police officer and two others sustained injuries Wednesday in a chain-reaction crash along the highway in Plymouth County, reports NBC 10 Boston.

Around 8:20 a.m., emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision at I-495 and Route 24 in Bridgewater, which is around 36 miles northeast of Providence.

Officials say that a Massachusetts State Trooper and two other drivers were hurt when a car rear-ended a police cruiser, pushing it into another vehicle.

All three drivers went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed thus far.

A full investigation is underway.
