Bridgewater man killed in motorcycle crash at US-6, RI-10

PROVIDENCE, RI – A 26-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Sunday in a motorcycle accident along the highway in Providence, reports WPRI 12.

The crash happened around 5:30 pm at the intersection of US-6 and RI-10, which is west of Dexter Field on the west end of the city.

Police say that biker was likely speeding when he lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle and hit the guardrail while navigating a turn. The motorcyclist then fell over the guardrail, dropping 40 or 50 feet to the ground.

The victim, identified as Cedrix Teixeira of Massachusetts, died after transport to an area hospital.

There were no passengers on the bike at the time of the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
