DARTMOUTH, MA – A 36-year-old female driver was killed and a passenger was injured in a single-car crash that happened on I-195 East on Saturday.
The collision took place before 3:30 a.m. near mile marker 21 and warranted a response from Massachusetts State Police and Dartmouth Fire and EMS, according to WJAR News 10.
Fire crews had to extricate the driver, who was either pinned or entrapped. The driver died from her injuries at the scene and has since been identified as Crystal Mullens from Freetown.
The passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials shut down the area for approximately two and a half hours and reopened all lanes around 6:00 a.m.
