Motorcyclist sought in Fourth of July hit-and-run crash in Newport 

NEWPORT, RI – Newport police are currently looking for a motorcyclist who was involved in a hit-and-run crash on the Fourth of July, WJAR News 10 reports. 

Police announced the search on Friday, July 11. Officers said the collision occurred around 10 p.m. on Thames Street. According to camera footage, the motorcyclist was seen fleeing the scene, traveling on the sidewalk after crashing into another individual. 

Anyone who has any information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately. 

The specifics of how the crash unfolded and the description of the suspect have not been revealed.
