WEST WARRICK, RI – A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized after running across the intersection of Pleasant Street and Main Street and getting hit by a car Tuesday.
The pedestrian collision occurred around 5 p.m., WPRI said. After arriving, EMS crews transported the teenager to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver remained at the scene. He told West Warrick police he was unable to press on his brakes in time to avoid a crash. In addition, an eyewitness told police that the teenager ran across the intersection without looking out for incoming traffic.
Local police are continuing to investigate the details behind this crash.
