WARWICK, RI – Two drivers and a 3-year-old child sustained injuries as a result of a three-vehicle collision Monday on I-95 South, WPRI said.
The events took place at around 10 a.m., when a female Jeep driver drifted from her lane and struck a parked tractor-trailer before returning onto the freeway. The Jeep then entered a center lane, striking an oncoming car.
The car driver and the Jeep passenger, the 3-year-old girl, sustained minor wounds, while the Jeep driver was left in serious condition.
EMS crews rushed the Jeep driver to Rhode Island Hospital and the toddler to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
While Rhode Island State Police have started an investigation, no additional information has been released at this time.
