Woman dies after car hits tree, catches fire in Tiverton 

TIVERTON, MA – A woman was allegedly speeding when she veered off the road and crashed her car into a tree, causing it to catch fire and claiming her life Thursday.

The solo collision happened before 11:30 p.m. in the 840th block of Lake Road, WJAR News 10 reports. Fire crews were able to help the woman escape her burning 2014 Subaru Impreza prior to fire crews rushing her to Saint Anne’s Hospital. There, she suffered fatal injuries.

Police identified the victim as Jennifer Sylvia, 52, a Tiverton local.
