CRANSTON, RI – A woman who was crossing some lanes in the 1141st block of Cranston Street was said to have been jaywalking when she was hit by a USPS van, sustaining injuries.
Police told Turnto10 that this collision happened after 5 p.m. Saturday, and confirmed the woman did not use the crosswalk. After first responders arrived, an ambulance rushed the pedestrian to Rhode Island Hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition. At this time, her injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening.
Preliminary details from the police’s report indicate that the driver of the white van (who stayed at the scene) was not impaired and operated the government vehicle at a low speed. No criminal charges were announced.
