Woman, 83, causes crash in Cranston that sends walkers to hospital

CRANSTON, RI – Two pedestrians were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in serious conditions after they were run over by an 83-year-old woman Monday.

According to WPRI, the driver had failed to yield when she struck the two walkers crossing the Park Avenue and Sunset Terrace intersection along Roger Williams Park.

The woman claimed she did not see the pedestrians. Nonetheless, police cited her for failing to yield.

Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles will evaluate the woman’s competency in operating a vehicle.

Updates will be issued as soon as new developments are released.
